About the NDIS
Are you eligible for the NDIS?
The NDIS provides an Eligibility Check List that outlines some of the key criteria that may help you indicate if you or your child are eligible to apply for the NDIS. The final decision on eligibility will be decided by the NDIA.
How to apply for the NDIS
Once you have read the Eligibility Check List and believe you meet the listed criteria, you can complete an ‘Access Request Form’ which will be reviewed and either approved or declined by the NDIA. You can download the application form from this page: NDIS Access Request
Children Younger than 7
The NDIS now provides funding support as a means of early intervention for Australian children younger than 7 years of age who either are living with a disability or are experiencing a developmental delay. You can read more about the importance of early intervention and the NDIS here: NDIS Early Childhood Approach
What is the NDIS Plan process?
Each NDIS plan is based on the support needed to meet each individual’s goals living with their own unique disability or developmental delay circumstances. There is a Planning Meeting to establish these goals and needs and funding will then be allocated based on these factors. You can learn more about how to prepare for your Planning Meeting here: Creating your Plan
Your NDIS Plan
Managing your NDIS funding
All NDIS Plan funding can be managed in one of three methods; Self-managed, Plan-managed and NDIA-managed. Which option you choose is dependent on your own preferences. Learn more about using your NDIS Plan funding here: Using your Plan.
NDIS funding for Resilient Kidz
In order to use NDIS funding to access any Resilient Kidz services or programs, you will need to be Self-managed or Plan-managed. This is because Resilient Kidz is a boutique disability company and is not yet a registered NDIS provider. If you are NDIA-managed you can only access services from registered NDIS providers.
NDIS support coordination
It can be time-consuming and difficult to manage all the different people or companies from who you will access disability services and support from through your NDIS plan. This is where a support coordinator can be life-changing.
